Fall is a bit of a risky time for a portrait session in Seattle. Some days are gorgeous despite the forecast and some are horrendous--despite the forecast! We had scheduled this engagement session months in advance, to take advantage of the changing leaves and dramatic autumn foliage at the Washington Park Arboretum. When the weekend rolled around and the skies were grey, I scanned all my favorite weather apps and found that we had the best chance for a dry session for one hour in the middle of the day (not the sunset time we had originally planned on.) Because Kassaundra and Mohsin are awesome, they quickly agreed to meet us on short notice and it seemed that the weather gods had smiled on us. The sun was out, I was regretting my decision to wear a jacket, I was snapping away....and then the raindrops began to fall. But honestly, the photos we took in the rain are some of my very favorites from the session, there's just something inherently romantic about cuddling under an umbrella with your love!
