I've dreamed about living in the Pacific Northwest since I was 18 years old. Summer visits to beloved relatives living in Portland opened my eyes to the majestic beauty of mountains constantly on the horizon, deep evergreen woods to hike through and a culture that embraced green living. So it was an easy "yes" vote for Seattle from me when my husband was weighing his options for where to attend graduate school. I arrived in June and so have yet to experience the dreariness of winter that every Seattleite I meet is quick to warn me is coming; this collection of photos represents summer explorations of my north Capitol Hill neighborhood and early autumn hiking at Snow Lake and I find myself in as much awe of the beauty of this place as I did so many years ago. It's with a smile on my face that I continue to seek out all that my new home has to offer.
